For the past few months, we’ve been all atwitter (and all aFacebook?) about our Bedrock Shops Free Online Store Contest. You may have seen the coverage in the Richmond Times Dispatch’s small business publication WorkIt Richmond or in the Richmond BizSense. Five independent retailers entered, and one gathered more customer votes than any other – 102 votes to be exact. Very Richmond Gifts, a gift shop located in the James Center in Richmond’s historic Shockoe Slip, now has a new eCommerce website underway. Working in partnership, we’re hoping to launch it very soon.
What exactly did they win, you ask?
Our contest prize was the Bedrock Shops Granite Package, which – in addition to the on-site training, set-up, and support that our clients receive with all packages – includes up to 1000 product SKUs, Search Engine Optimized (SEO) links, Google Analytics, PCI Compliance, Reviews and Ratings, Promotions & Coupon Codes, and much more. Congratulations again to Very Richmond Gifts, and we also want to extend a thank you to the other competitors: Chop Suey Books, Buffy’s Goodies, Pieces Boutique & Consignment, and Alchemists Books & Gifts. Central Virginia is lucky to have such spirited and driven independent shops.
The retail marketplace is changing before our eyes. Retailers have to strategize like never before in this world of online mega-retailers, big box stores, and endless competition. A member of the Retail Merchants Association and the Western Chesterfield Business Alliance, Petrofy is honored to be a community partner, supporting Think. Shop. Buy. Local efforts and enabling new levels of competition in the digital marketplace.
